Matrix - Womb. In addition to office use, a semi-public space was created to meet the requirements of the public within the building. This space was derived from the human body, specifically from the womb. There is an outer shell that encompasses a structural body. Thus, between the structural body and the shell, a circulation and gathering space for the public is created. In order to provide views while not completely exposing the inner structure to the outside, a semi-transparent lightweight construction made of pneumatically filled ETFE cushions was used. These cushions are both thermally insulating and transparent. Due to their light weight, the construction can be supported by columns and simultaneously rest on a glass facade.
